The City needs to adopt a design plan for apartment complexes. Right now the developers control what these building look like and where they get placed. And not having a codified policy in place pits neighbors against developers when issues of design and quality arise. I also think the safety code should include a storm shelter in each building - where are the tenants to go when the code red alert goes off in the middle of the night (or during the day if they are at home)?
