I know this is already in the early stages for Xcel Energy and their planning for the region's (MSP, FM, GFK, STCLD) power needs has included talks of a new power plant near the Fargo Moorhead area. We should work with Xcel Energy to ensure that the plant is built to the highest specifications and can withstand flooding, tornados and of course - constant high winds. A nuclear powerplant would also bring numerous high paying jobs to the area and also add capacity to the Fargo Moorhead grid.
